However, his close contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin raise concerns among some European leaders. Hungary's support of the Russian position on various international platforms is particularly alarming for many. The postponement of Sweden's accession to NATO also played a role in the growing isolation of Hungary. This event raised questions about the security of the EU member states, given Hungary's proximity to Russia. The results of the elections in Poland also influenced Hungary's position in Europe.
