As a result of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Vietnam, at least 11 documents were signed. The leaders of both countries also adopted a statement «On further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership in the context of the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the Russian-Vietnamese Treaty on the Foundations of Friendly Relations.» Cooperation in the energy sector is deepening significantly: «Zarubezhneft» has received a license to develop block 11-2 of the Vietnamese continental shelf, and «Novatek» has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the state-owned «Petrovietnam» company. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has signed an agreement with the Vietnamese investment fund BVIM. Other signed documents include an agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education and bilateral agreements between the RANEPA, HSE, FEFU and Vietnamese universities, including Hanoi State University and the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences. A memorandum on the construction of a nuclear science and technology center in Vietnam with the participation of «Rosatom» and an agreement on cooperation in the development of laboratory infrastructure to combat epidemics were also signed. Russia and Vietnam have also agreed on cooperation between the Ministries of Justice, tax services and customs authorities of the two countries.
