The European stock market shows moderate growth

On Wednesday, stock indexes of the largest countries in Western Europe showed moderate growth, reacting to corporate news and statistics from the eurozone.


The Stoxx Europe 600 rose by 0.33% by 12:23 Moscow time, reaching 520.6 points. The DAX rose by 0.55%, the CAC 40 — by 0.3%, the FTSE MIB — by 0.2%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.08%, the IBEX 35 — 0.03%.


The consumer confidence index in France rose to 92.1 points in August, coinciding with market forecasts. In Italy, sales of manufactured goods decreased by 3.7% year-on-year in July.


The volume of consumer loans issued in the eurozone increased by 0.5% in July, while the volume of loans issued to non—financial companies increased by 0.6%. The key indicator of the money supply (M3 aggregate) in the eurozone showed an annual growth of 2.3%.


Important economic events await investors ahead: revised US GDP data (Thursday) and preliminary data on August inflation and July unemployment in the eurozone (Friday).


Prudential Plc is rising in price by 1.8% — adjusted operating profit of the insurer in the first half of the year increased to $1.54 billion. Elekta AB loses 6.4%, NatWest — 3.8%, Lloyds — 3.2%.
