This week, US President Donald Trump plans to impose trade duties that could affect the UK and other countries. This was announced by the representative of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

According to him, the head of the British government has clearly outlined his position, stating that he will act solely in the interests of the country. He also assured that active preparations are underway for all possible scenarios related to Trump's expected statements, which, according to preliminary data, will affect not only the UK, but also other countries.

For the first time, the British authorities have officially recognized the possibility of negative consequences from American duties. At the same time, Starmer's representative did not rule out the possibility of retaliatory measures, including against the US financial sector, stressing that the decision would be based on a pragmatic approach, which is guided by the British Prime minister.
