Federal Minister of Natural and Water Resources of Australia Keith Pitt said today that the country is ready to assist any European state with the supply of liquefied natural gas in case of a shortage of fuel from Russia. Pitt also noted that Australian liquefied natural gas exporters are the world's leading companies and reliable suppliers capable of supplying energy around the world. This statement was made after it became known that the United States is negotiating with gas suppliers from Australia and Qatar to replace Russian fuel in Europe due to the escalation of the situation around Ukraine. The American president even suggested the imposition of sanctions against Russia in case of further deterioration of the situation. At the same time, the Kremlin stressed that Russia constantly fulfills all contractual obligations for gas supplies to Europe and has never created a reason to doubt its reliability as a supplier. Recall that recently, the idea of a possible Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory has been accelerated in Western countries. However, Moscow claims that these accusations are unfounded, explaining the situation as a political provocation.
