The gas operator Gaz-System announced that Poland and Slovakia are launching a gas pipeline connecting the transport systems of the two countries. At the moment, construction work has been completed and the functionality of the gas pipeline is being tested. According to Gaz-System, the total length of the gas pipeline is about 164 kilometers. It is noted that the first trial gas supply from Poland to Slovakia will be made in early June, and the final acceptance of the gas connection will take place in the second or third quarter of this year. The new gas pipeline connects the gas hub in the Polish Strahocin with the compressor station in Velke-Kapusany in Slovakia. The maximum volume of blue fuel that can be transported via the new highway from Slovakia to Poland is 5.7 billion cubic meters per year. From Poland to Slovakia – 4.7 billion cubic meters. It also became known that Poland still managed to secure gas supplies for the upcoming winter period. At the same time, it was previously reported that without Russian gas supplies, Poland will not have time to create energy reserves for next winter.
