  • The US presidential election will be held today, an important event for global politics and markets. According to a recent NPR, PBS and Marist Poll, Kamala Harris has a slight advantage in swing states, gaining the support of 51% of voters against 47% for Donald Trump. Nevertheless, 49% of respondents expect Trump to win, while 46% believe in Harris' success.


  • The US Department of Justice has charged an American company for violating sanctions against Russia. The US Department of Justice has accused Eleview International Inc and two of its top managers of illegally supplying dual-use equipment to Russia through Kazakhstan, Turkey and Finland. The total volume of exports of telecommunications equipment exceeded $6 million, and the defendants face up to 20 years in prison.


  • Maya Sandu won the Moldovan elections with 55.33% of the vote. Stoyanoglo scored 44.67%. The Party of Socialists of Moldova stated that the past elections cannot be called free and democratic. It was the second round of elections and its results caused fierce debate about the reasons for the sharp increase in the "percentage" for Sandu as the calculations were completed.


  • In September, Russia once again became the country with the lowest unemployment among the G20 countries. The unemployment rate in Russia was 2.4%, comparable to Japan and South Korea, where the figure reached 2.5%. The highest unemployment rate among the G20 countries was recorded in South Africa – 33.5%.


  • Taiwan has stopped supplying machine tools to Russia. The Ministry of Economy of the country announced the introduction of export control measures: the authorities increased the fine for violating sanctions against Moscow by 15 times to $ 31.3 thousand. Companies are required to report on the final recipient of the goods. In total, 77 types of machine tools for the manufacturing industry were subject to restrictions. The new measures have nullified all supplies.
